Pedorthic Solutions specializes in the treatment of foot and lower limb disorders using custom foot orthotics, modifications to footwear, over the counter insoles and related products. Our Canadian Certified Pedorthist, Lisa Irish has been practicing more than 30 years. She has extensive clinical experience performing biomechanical examinations and gait analyses to determine what types of pedorthic interventions would be appropriate for a specific individual. Lisa was a founding instructor at Western University’s Diploma in Pedorthics Program where she taught for 13 years. She also has years of experience teaching anatomy, biomechanics and orthotic therapy at numerous conferences and workshops both locally and internationally. Lisa has a deep commitment to pedorthic care, pedorthic education and especially to the wellbeing of the patients she treats every day.

All of our foot orthotics are manufactured by hand on site so we are able to perform adjustments while you wait and make any repairs necessary to your orthotics to keep them functional as long as possible. Unit 3B and at Energy Sports Medicine and Wellness Centre.

What to expect on your first appointment

Your initial Pedorthic assessment appointment will take between 45-60 minutes. You will need to wear comfortable clothes and bring a couple of pairs of shoes that you regularly wear to your appointment.

Your pedorthist will:

take a full relevant history
assess your lower limb ranges of motion
assess your gait (the way you walk/run)
inspect your footwear for wear patterns and suitability
discuss what pedorthic treatments may be warranted for your specific injury/condition/biomechanics
provide education regarding your symptoms and your footwear choices

Most insurance companies require a prescription from a family Dr or specialist for coverage under extended health benefits. A prescription is not required to book an appointment for an assessment. Pedorthic Solutions provides a written biomechanical assessment and gait analysis necessary for insurance coverage.
